Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home in Park West Lodge, Charlottetown, on Saturday, January 24, 2015 of M. Rita Lambe, formerly of Emerald, aged 93 years.
Born in Roseville, P.E.I., on April 29, 1921, daughter of the late Henry and Rosie (Veno) Mallett.
Beloved wife of the late Arthur R. Lambe. Ever so loved and cherished mother of Nyall Lambe - deceased, Sheila Mulligan (James Chaiser), Florida; Anna Gayle Strumberger (late Tony), Charlottetown; Sharleen (Barry) Martin, Stratford; Keith (Noreen) Lambe, Fort Augustus; Mike Lambe, Charlottetown; and Cathy (David) Livingstone, Stratford. Mother-in-law to Ruth (MacFarlane) Lambe, Bonshaw; and Paula (Brown) Lambe, Charlottetown. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren and their families: Pat Mulligan, Colleen DeSelms, Mike Mulligan, Michelle Volke, Chris MacDonald, Lynda McKenna, Aaron Strumberger, Jacob Strumberger, Billy Martin, Mary Beth Martin, Brody Lambe, Leanne Lambe, Tasia Lambe, Adam Lambe, Colin Livingstone, Steve Livingstone and Matt Livingstone; and also her 8 great-grandchildren. Always remembered as a dear sister to George (Carol) Mallett, Jean Kelly, Vivian (Bill) MacAndrew, Bill (Rosaleen) Mallett, Ron (Mary) Mallett and Betty Noonan. Sister-in-law of Ruth Lambe. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren from the Mallett and Lambe families.
Predeceased by great-grandson, Edward DeSelms; daughter-in-law, Adelaide (Mulligan) Lambe; sister, Rosella, and her husband, Eric Roberts; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom Kelly, Dick Noonan, Doris Mallett, Eileen Morris, Ruth Winter, Margaret Tierney-Foley, Ann Dutton, Hilda Wood, Elmer, Ivan and Carroll Lambe.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Mass Friday at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Summerfield, at 11 a.m. Interment later in the parish cemetery.
If so desired, contributions may be made to St. James Cemetery Fund or St. James CWL.
Members of St. James CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
