McCLELLAND, GLORIA HOLLY
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria “Shirley” McClelland of Saint John, NB on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the age of 79.
Born in Moncton, NB on February 6, 1935 and raised in Hampton and Newtown, NB areas. She was the daughter of the late George and Lillian (Dunham) Nickerson. She was previously employed with T. Eaton company and also worked as a nurse until her marriage to the late John McClelland. They transferred to many places, having lived 20 years in Doaktown, NB. Gloria loved to socialize and reminisce about the good old days. She always welcomed company, made many friends and over the years she cared for the Ironworkers as boarders in her home. Everyone appreciated her talent for being an excellent cook which she took great pride in. Gloria had Christian values and a generous spirit. Her favorite Bible scripture was “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.
She is survived and will be missed by her loving son Michael Keith (Cheryl) of Saint John, NB; sister Audrey Pyke of Hamilton, On and several nieces and nephews. Her faithful little dog Ernesto will miss her also.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers Percy, Norman, Bert, Ronnie, Truman and Vaughan; sisters Alma, Mildred and Helena.
Cremation is entrusted with Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John and by request there is no visitation or service. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
