DUNCAN: Annie Loretta (nee: Carleton) a long time resident of Neville, SK passed away at her home on February 18, 2015 with her family by her side. Annie was born on March 17, 1918 south of Neville, SK. Annie took her grade one at Orwill School and then grades two to eight were taken at Titanic School. Annie worked for Mrs. Bradley of Cadillac, SK, as well as the Minister and Florence Fowke of Neville, SK. In 1937 she went to Souris, MB for work due to the "Dirty 30's". On October 22, 1938 she married James Edward Duncan in Souris. In 1940 they moved to the farm north of Neville, and in 1947 they moved into the town of Neville. Annie loved her family gatherings, especially camping out in her yard, quilting, playing cards, gardening, doing puzzles, baking buns, bread and donuts to share with family and friends. She enjoyed visits and phone calls with family and friends, especially after losing her eye sight in 2008. Annie is survived by her seven children, Kay Desjardins, Irvin (Kathy) Duncan, Mary Anne (Mario) Piscia, Reta (Roy) Dawson, Verna (Cob) Neufeld, Pearl (Eldon) Bolton, and Barry Duncan; 19 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sister Hazel Francis; brother Alex Carleton; sisters-in-law Merriel Froslee, Shirley Dyck, Betty Ann Duncan, Rose Carleton, Jo Carleton, and Dorothy Carleton; brother-in-law Wayne Duncan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great neices, and great nephews. She is predeceased by her husband James (Jim) Duncan in 1959; son Lyle in 1961; granddaughter Bonnie Desjardins in 1974; great grandson Chad Duncan in 2011; her parents Edward and Mary Carleton; five brothers; five sisters; seven sisters-in-law; and 15 brothers-in-law. A Celebration Of Life Service was held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from First United Church in Swift Current with Reverend Annette Taylor officiating. The pianist was Joan Williamson with special music by Justin Bolton and friend Bill Moch. Ushers were Sheldon Bolton, Kyle Bolton, Stacey Neufeld, and James Duncan; pallbearers were Jerry Desjardins, Wade Piscia, Clint Dawson, Lyle Neufeld, Duffy Bolton, and Joe Duncan; and honorary pallbearers were all who shared in Annie's life. The Interment Service was held from the Neville Cemetery with Shirley Dyck officiating. Memorial donations in Annie's memory may be directed to the C.N.I.B.
