The death occurred at Bangor, Maine, on February 22, 2015, of Clarence E. Gillis, age 80 years. He was born in Summerside, P.E.I., Sept. 17, 1934, the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Burke) Gillis. Clarence moved his family from Summerside to Bangor on July 4, 1967. He worked at bookkeeping and accounting positions and also owned and operated a successful medical supplies company in Bangor. Clarence had a great love for Youth Hockey and helped form the Bangor Youth Hockey Program both as a coach and mentor to many young hockey players including his sons. Clarence is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Bangor; three sons, Rick of Florida, Chris and Mike both of Bangor; three daughters, Cindie (Jim) Runkle of Florida, Donna (Ken Leming) of Florida, Lisa (Antonio) Tremblay of Bangor; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Don (Judy) Gillis, of Mermaid, P.E.I.; one sister, Gertrude Harrison, of Edmonton, Alberta; sister-in-law, Eileen (Dave) MacMillan, of Summerside; several nieces and nephews; and Sharon's five children. Clarence was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his children, Shirley (Arsenault) Gillis. Interment will be in the spring by the Greenlawn Funeral Directors, Bangor.
