It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Judith Marie Colford (nee MacDonald). Judy passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015, at the Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth, NS. Born in Tyne Valley, PEI, on February 18, 1951, to the late Jean Young Towle (nee Smith) and the late Kenneth MacDonald. Judy was an ambitious businesswoman who wore many hats. Having performed as a backup singer for Anne Murray and Don Messer in her early years. She then went on to become a nurse, a real estate agent and mortgage broker. Before retirement, Judy owned and operated "Miss Daisy's Tearoom" in Summerside, where she cherished spending time with her patrons and customers. Above all else, Judy loved being a mother and grandmother and spending time with family. Devoted mother to Jodi Smith, Dartmouth, and Jillian Hobb, Summerside. Loving grandmother to Jesse Smith, Danielle Hobb and Lauren Sapier. Judy is survived by sister, Betty (Raynor) Gaudet and brother-in-law Richard, Aunt Marie (Mimi) and Uncle Blair Graham, long time friend, Gina Bloomquist, and her fur baby, Daisy Mae. She also leaves to mourn, her partner of 8 years, Ian MacKenzie. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Monday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Tuesday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at the Bideford-Conway United Church. Interment to follow in the Bideford-Conway United Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Judy, memorials to Summerside Community Church or to the Canadian Diabetes Association P.E.I. would be appreciated.
