Judy Dianne Crossman

Crossman, Judy Dianne, 66, Debert, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with her children at her side. Born in Lower Onslow, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Marion (Wood) Gill. Judy was a very special lady that always put the needs of others before her own. She retired from Home Hardware Distribution Centre in Debert to care for her husband Doug after his stroke. They both became active with the Colchester Stroke Club and after his passing she continued volunteering with them until she recently retired as club president. Her special grandson, Marcus would attend as many stroke club events as he could with his Nanny to have fun with all the kind people there. She also was a member and volunteered with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 106, Debert.
She is survived by sons, Robert of Debert, Laurie (Karla) of Debert; and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Aaron, Brett, Nick, Marcus; brothers Cyril of Belmont, Percy (Shirley) of Belmont, Lawrence of Bible Hill; Sister in law Evelyn gill; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her dearly loved husband Douglas Eugene Crossman; brothers Rex, Ralph, Cecil; sister Verna.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A celebration of Judy’s life will take place on Saturday, March 14th from 2-5 pm in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 106, Debert. Donations in memory may be made to the Colchester Stroke Club directly or to a member whom will be present at Judy’s celebration. The family would like to thank Dr. Rowe, Dr. Smith from Palliative Care, and the nurses and staff of Colchester East Hants Health Centre that provided excellent and compassionate care.
