VAUGHAN, Helen Selena - 80, of Mill Village, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Born in Beach Meadows, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Violet (Clattenburg) Manthorne. Helen was a former switchboard operator for Maritime Tel and Tel. She did bookkeeping for various people and businesses and was a personal care worker as well as ran a personal care home for Alzheimer’s patients. She was owner of Helen’s Boutique in Mill Village for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mill Village Fire Department and served as treasurer. She was a member of the I.O.D.E., homemakers of Queens County, the Professional Business Women's’ Group of Queens County and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Mersey Branch #38, Royal Canadian Legion where she served in various capacities such as President and Vice-President. She was also a member of the Bethany United Church and the U.C.W. She is survived by her husband Robert, sons James “Jim” (Cindy) Perry of Shelburne, Joseph Perry of Labelle, Jeffrey (Anne) Perry of Maple Ridge, BC, Jamel (Rhonda) Perry of Mill Village, grandchildren Mary, James, Erin, Evan and Mitchell, great grandchildren Glen Jeffrey and Cassandra, and a great great grandchild Avery, a brother Carleton (Margie) of Mill Village. She was predeceased by sisters Kay and Delores and a brother Jerry. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 7 until 9 p.m. and a legion service will be held at 7:00 p.m. both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel and where funeral service will held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Lay Minister Peter Anthony officiating.
