Crockett Hazel Dickey

Dickey, (Crockett) Hazel – 93, Wynn Park Villa, Truro, formerly of Middle Stewiacke, passed away March 20, 2015 at Wynn Park Villa. Born in Eastville, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Ethel (Richey) Crockett. She was a member of the Middle Stewiacke United Church where she served in many capacities including treasurer for 30 years, was a charter and life member of the U.C.W. and participated in several community related activities. Mom enjoyed caring for her home, gardening, dancing, old time fiddle and sacred music, bowling, entertaining and camping. She took great pride in everything she did and will be especially remembered for her love of decorating with pinks and burgundy. She is survived by son, Mervyn (Donna), Hilden; sister-in-law, Geraldine Burrows, Brookfield; grandchildren, Jamie (Karen), Truro, John (Lorna) Thompson, B.C. Ronelda Girello, Washington, Tracie Gaudet, Greenwood, Kimberley (Paul) Tehonchuk, Trenton, ON, Julie (Shawn) Stewart, Cornwall, Joanne (Jim) Drummond, Shortts Lake, Sherry (Craig), Sackville along with several great and great-great-grandchildren; one niece and nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; brother, Bernard Crockett and daughter, Marilyn (Ron) Morrell. A special thank-you to Dr. Trevor Locke and staff at both Townsview Estates and Wynn Park Villa for the loving care they provided. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro. Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 28 from 1:00 – 2 p.m. with memorial service at 2 p.m. both from the Middle Stewiacke United Church, Rev. Keith Gale officiating, assisted by Rev.
