Carol Corney

It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Ann Corney age 69 of Amherst announce her passing on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in West Bromwich, England she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Agnes (Morrall) Morris.
She was a long time employee of Service Canada and was very active in her Union PSAC. Carol was active in many groups such as the NDP Party, the Amherst Historical Society, PFLAG, ZONTA and many more.
She was a lifelong learner, avid reader and loved her family.
Carol is survived by five children Betty (Tim) Bugley of Nanaimo, BC, Carol (Mark) Steeves of Woodpoint, NB, James Corney and Laura Corney both of Amherst and Patrick (Crystal) Corney of Westcock, NB, grandchildren Jonathan, Kyle, Courtnay, Scott, Emily, Abbey, Ryan, Emily, Alanna, Alyssa and Catherine, great grandchildren Jadyn and Eric, sisters Vicki McIvor of Annapolis Valley, NS, Betty Jean (Mike) Murphy of Dartmouth, NS and Angela (Fred) Keddy of Texas, USA, sister is law Lynne Morris of Dartmouth, NS, brother Richard (Ann) Morris of Edmonton, AB and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband George, daughter Victoria in infancy and brother Christopher.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 7 – 9 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS. (902-667-9906)
Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst, NS with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre Palliative Care.
