Linda Niven

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Niven, age 67, of Diamond Street, Westville on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with her family at her side.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late James and Lillian (Kempt) Stewart.
Lynn worked for several years at MacLeod’s Restaurant, Westville, which she later owned and operated and being a proud grandmother called it “Nan’s Kitchen.” She was a former choir member of St. Paul United Church. She enjoyed helping out and volunteering at various functions and was a member of the Salvation Army Home League and was a cub leader at the Westville Salvation Army where she strived to treat all children equal. Although Lynn had many challenges in the past few years, she always faced them with courage and a smile. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Alex; son David (Angela), Westville; grandchildren, Corey and Ashley; sisters, Jennifer Brinkman (Sarah), Toronto; Donna Norman, Scarborough; nieces and nephews, and the Tooker and Collett families.
She was predeceased by her step-father Eric Brinkman; sister-in-law Lois Watters; brother-in-law Ken Tugwell; and nephew Keith.
Lynn is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Wednesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Cremation will follow. Spring burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only, donations in Lynn’s memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
