Freda Langille

Langille, Freda – 93, Truro, passed away with family by her side at Debert Court, Debert on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Freda was born on March 10, 1922 in Wallasey, England the daughter of Mary Manley. She grew up in Brymbo, North Wales. During the war she worked in a munitions factory and later met and married her husband Clarence Langille who was serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. They were married in England in 1945 and she came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. She loved to sing in the church choir and was a Brownie leader in both Lower Sackville and Truro for several years. She also worked as a nurse’s aide for several years at the Colchester Hospital in Truro. Freda is survived by her daughters, Annette (Gerry) MacIntosh, Mavis Gordon (Jack Kelly); sons, Gareth (Olga) Langille, Scott Langille; grandchildren, Tanya (Tracey MacKenzie); Heather (Patrick) Ryan, Patricia (Derek) Roberts, Janet (Rick) Caravona, Stephen Gordon, David Langille, Kevin Langille, Jeff Langille (Terri), Cindy Langille (Shawn), Drew and Erica Langille; great grandchildren, Kristina and Kyle Mackenzie, Caitlin and Jacob Roberts, Davin, Ewan and Keenan Gordon, Addison and Emerson Caravona, Peyton Langille, Jessica and Brooke Pieschke; nephew, Nigel Davies, North Wales; sister-in-law, Nina Reid, Moncton. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; infant son, Clarence Jr.; sister, Hilda; mother, Mary Hutchinson. The family would like to thank the staff at Debert Court for their care and compassion during our mother’s stay. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 1 – 2 p.m. with a funeral to follow at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Lori Ramsey officiating. Spring interment in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of choice.
