It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marg LeBlanc, 85, of Alder Point, on March 30, 2015, at the Miner’s Memorial Manor, with her loving family by her side.
She is now at peace and in heaven with her daughter 'Freda'. Born in Bras d’Or, she was the daughter of the late Neil John and Azina MacRae.
Marg was the last surviving member of her family and a former member of St. Andrew’s United Church in Bras d’Or. She was a kind and gentle woman, whose family meant the world to her. She enjoyed the outdoors and sitting around a campfire. She worked at the fishplant in Alder Point for 27 years.
Marg leaves to mourn the love of her life, and husband of 67 years William 'Bill' Leblanc; daughter and best friend Elizabeth (Ralph) Wayson; sons, Bill (Theresa), Neil (Cindy),
Glen (Dorothy), Blaise (Paula); grandchildren, William, Darren, Robert, April, Candace, Melissa, Courtney, Kelly, Dalton and Morgan; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Marg will be sadly missed by her lifelong friends, Nathan and Lorraine McNeil.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant daughter; Freda; brothers, Phillip, Wally and Harry; sisters, Elizabeth, Annie, Chris, Azina; daughter-in-law Bernadette and a brother and sister in infancy.
Visitation for the Late Marg LeBlanc will take place, Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 10 Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel Friday, April 3, 2015 at 11 a.m.
Donations may be made in memory of Marg to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bras d’Or, or a charity of one’s choice.
