Rita Catherine "Kaye" MacEachern (nee McKearney)

At the Prince Edward Home on Sunday, March 15, Rita Catherine "Kaye" MacEachern (nee McKearney) slipped away quietly with her loving family at her side. A wife, mother, daughter, sister, employee, volunteer, and musician, she lived a full and purposeful life.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gerald MacEachern, her children Robert MacEachern (Sharon), Pamela (Michael Talty), Janalee (Blaise Tobin), Darla (Michael MacMullin), Gerri (Todd Keith) and Gregory MacEachern. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Vanessa MacMullin Ferris (Rob), Jonathan MacMullin, Michael Tobin, Caitlin Talty, Kieran Talty, Joshua Keith and step-grandchildren Kelli MacDonald, Cindy MacMillan, and Ashley Quinn. She will be missed by her sisters, Eileen Veinot (Don) and Carole MacPhee of Ontario and Theresa Smith of P.E.I.; sister-in-laws Joyce Ross of Massachusetts and Anne Brigham (Fred) of Virginia ; brother-in-laws Albert MacEachern and John McEachern of P.E.I., as well as the many lovely nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the United States.
Kaye was predeceased by her parents Jack McKearney and Florence (nee MacDonald) of P.E.I.; her siblings Ivan McKearney of British Columbia, Gerald McKearney of Nova Scotia, Vivian Alderson and Patricia Mullen of Ontario, Lyle McKearney, Helen Currie and Bernadette Walsh of P.E.I.; her sister-in-laws Marg McKearney and Doreen MacEachern; brother-in-laws Donald Ross, Ruben Smith, and Alfred Currie.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral home until Monday, April 6, then transferred to St. Andrew's Church, Mount Stewart for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 5, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
