DOUCET, Madeline Annette (Murphy) of Yarmouth, NS - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Madeline on Monday, April 6, 2015 at home surrounded by family following a courageous battle with progressive supranuclear palsy. Madeline leaves behind her loving husband, Roland; she was the proud mother of sons, John Roderick (Joanne) and Stephen Jerome (Irene); and loving Nanny to Jonathan, Nicholas, Niko, Matthew, Parker, Brooklyn and Maximus. Born September 11, 1944, Madeline was a daughter of the late Roderick and Leah Murphy. Madeline is survived by brothers Michael (Sharon) Murphy, William (Patricia) Murphy, Roderick Jr. (Janet) all of Little River and sisters Anna Barr, Bedford; Marie (Darrell) Watkins, Wellington; Eleanor (Collie) Nickerson, Gardner’s Mills. Madeline and her husband Roland ran a successful business together in Cole Harbour for 30 years. We want to say thank you to Dr. Roland Muise and the EHS staff for the excellent care and compassion they offered Madeline. We also would like to thank all of the VON staff for their outstanding support and care. Their kindness will never be forgotten. A special thanks to the many friends and family for their constant support and love. A memorial service will be held at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Wedgeport at 2pm on Thursday, April 16, 2015 with Msgr Gerald LeBlanc officiating. There will be a reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion in Wedgeport. No visitation by family request. In lieu of flowers please donate to Tri-County-VON.
