It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Curtis Diamond of River of Pondsannounces his passing at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, Port Saunders on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the age of 90 years. He leaves to mourn a loving family, daughter Viola Samson (Frank); sister Marie Gould; a very special nephew Gordon House (Pauline); sister-in-law Bride Diamond; four grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Phillip and Mabel (nee Hewlin) Diamond, son Henry, brother Clyde, sisters Edna Diamond, Charlotte Beverly, Nellie House and Joyce Diamond, brothers-in-law Elijah Gould, Gordon Beverly and Harold House. Visitation was held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, River of Ponds on Thursday evening, and Friday and Saturday throughout the day. The funeral service was held on Sunday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Freake presiding. Interment followed at Spirity Cove Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre Funeral Homes, Port au Choix in conjunction with the family as were Mr. Diamonds’ wishes.
