Della Madonna McIsaac
Della Madonna McIsaac Kerfont died peacefully at the Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks, Alberta on April 20th, 2015 at the age of 54 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Della is survived by her mother, Theresa McIsaac, of Stephenville, Newfoundland; husband, Vincent Kerfont JR.; and sons, Zane McIsaac (Ryanne) of Calgary, Alberta and Blaze McIsaac (Alyssa) of Fort McMurray, Alberta and Judy Green (Doug) of Fort McMurray. Della is also survived by her sister, Margaret McIsaac (Darren) of Stephenville, Newfoundland; Christine (Bill) Benoit of New Brunswick; Micheal McIsaac (Celeste) of Etobicoke, Ontario, and Gilda Mills (Garry) of Howley, Newfoundland as well as many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Della was predeceased by her father, Ignatius McIsaac, and brothers, Patrick and Anthony McIsaac. Born on February 6th, 1961 to Theresa and Igantius McIsaac of Stephenville, Newfoundland, Della graduated from St.Stephen's High School in Stephenville in 1979. Della was talented in many areas and successful in everything she decided to master, including swimming and Judo. Della built a life for herself and her sons in Fort McMurray, Alberta and worked as the president of CUPE Local 1505 where she fought tirelessly for the rights of its 1,300 union members. Her sons remember her for her strength and courage in the face of adversity. Her friends remember her for her huge heart and her ability to always be there for them. A funeral is scheduled for April 30th at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic in Fort McMurray with refreshments to follow at the church. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks, Alberta. A celebration of Della's life will take place on May 1st, at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort McMurray Calgary, Alberta 6 pm all are welcome to attend.
