It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ninette Standing on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Alder Point on Oct. 23, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Catherine (Devoe) LeBlanc.
She was a member of Holy Family parish, Sydney Mines. Ninette was a very active lady, and was well known. She loved singing karaoke, open mic, and dancing.
She is survived by her fiancé and companion Dennis Shaw; her daughter Lois (John) and her son Dean (Lynn). Also left to mourn her loss are her grandchildren, Christopher, Stacey (Brandon) and Thomas (Tia), great-grandchildren, Caleb, Tabitha and Mason; sisters, Evelyn Thurbide (Chaccie) and Goldie (Gerald) Bonnar and brothers, George (Annie) LeBlanc and Elmer (Annie) LeBlanc.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bill Standing, son-in-law Wayne Paquet, sisters, Beatrice, Grace, Bertha, Violet, Olive and Shirley and brothers, Benny, Irvin and Leslie.
Visitation for Ninette Standing will be held in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, today (Monday, April 27), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass to celebrate her life will take place Tuesday, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Everett MacDow officiating.
Family flowers only. Donations in Ninette’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
