John Walter "Jack" Edwards

Edwards, John Walter “Jack”, 93, Truro, passed away peacefully on April 29th 2015, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care in Truro. Born May 13, 1921, he was the son of the late James and Caroline Edwards (Payne). He proudly served as a stoker in the merchant navy during the Second World War then was employed at Union Carbide until his retirement. Jack was a very successful gardener and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a faithful member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Valley.
Left to mourn are his wife Shirley ( Jorgensen) , daughters Sherry Kott ( John deceased ), Welland Ontario, Murna Vanderklok ( Jerry ) Welland, Ontario , Colleen Shave ( Gary deceased) Calgary, Alberta, Anne Reece Harders (Eddy ) , Washago, Ontario and son Wally (Lorraine )Kentville . Also stepchildren Darlene Robar (Glen, deceased) Truro, Marlo (Robert McFadden) Middleton and Craig Jorgensen, Ottawa. He was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by an infant son John Hartin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A family graveside service will take place at a later date in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Donations may be made to the Crossroads Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
