NEW GLASGOW/EDMONTON, ALTA. – Wendy Darlene Darroch, 51, Edmonton, Alta., formerly of New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the Mazankowski Heart Institute, Edmonton.
Born in Fredericton, N.B., she was a daughter of Eleanor (Wallace) Darroch, Stellarton and the late James “Jimmie” Darroch. Wendy served in the Canadian Military for several years before becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse, working in several hospitals and nursing homes. She enjoyed spending her free time painting, riding motorcycles, looking after horses and spoiling her pets. Wendy was most content relaxing over a hot cup of tea. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be missed dearly by all who love her.
Wendy’s spirit will live on through her surviving friends and family; mother, Eleanor Darroch; daughters, Jennifer Rendell (Kyle Ferguson), New Glasgow; Jayme Rendelle (Dave Kellock), Fort McMurray, Alta.; grandchildren, Callie, Jaxyn, Savanna and Ty; companion, Rick Caldwell, Edmonton; sisters, Brenda (Gary) Satoris, Oshawa, Ont.; Valerie (Gerry) Stretch, Campbell Croft, Ont.; brothers, Kevin (Theresa) Darroch, Marshdale; Allan (April) Darroch, Westville.
Wendy was predeceased by her father, Jimmie Darroch; grandson, Neil Ferguson.
There will be no visitation by request. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 6 in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. A memorial reception will follow in the Plymouth Fire Hall.
