Winnifred Jean (Winnie)
Respected and loved as the matriarch of the Shea family passed peacefully away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at the age of 86 in the presence of her loving family. Her love and devotion to family and her faith in God is her legacy, and she touched each of us in a special way.Waiting to welcome Winnie to her Eternal Home are her parents William and Ellen Shea, sisters: Rosemary Shea, Bernadette Snow, Mary Harkness, brothers: Hughie, Jim, Frank and Danny and nephews: Cleary and Randy Shea. Left to celebrate her life and the abundance of memories of life and adventures on Mayor Avenue are special caregivers and nieces: Paula Kieley (Rob), Rosemary Boland (Leo), Ellen White (Fintan), sister-in-law Mary Shea and her great-niece Megan Kieley. Also left to celebrate and mourn are her sisters-in-law: Marie, Ruby and Viola, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families "all of whom she treated as if they were her own" because it wasn't a "normal relationship with a niece or nephew." Each one held a special place in her heart and gave her great joy and sense of pride. The family also wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at the Long Term Care Facility in Pleasantville on floor 2 South West for their care and compassion.
