PICTOU LANDING – David “Bruce” Christison, age 62 of Airdrie, Alberta, passed away suddenly on May 13, 2015 in Maui, Hawaii with his loving family.
Bruce, born September 8, 1952 in New Glasgow was a son of the late David and Jean (Covert) Christison.
As a family, our memories of Bruce are filled with warm reminders of his kindness, generosity and continual selflessness. Bruce had many roles during his life: a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, co-worker and a caring friend. Nothing made Bruce happier than spending an evening with family and friends; telling stories, sharing a glass of wine and discussing his childhood in Pictou Landing.
During Bruce’s career as a millwright/supervisor with Trenton Works and Diavik where he created long lasting relationships that often made him the guy who people trusted and turned to for advice. Bruce’s passions for golf, boating, fishing, winemaking and Pictou Landing projects will be passed down to his children. Time on the water was special; at the helm of the boat Bruce ensured that everyone was having fun. For Bruce, his face would light up knowing that he was surrounded by the love of family and for all of us looking back at him, we know how much we were loved.
Bruce is survived by his love of 29 years, Nancy Macleod; sons: Nathan, David, Nick Macleod (Morgan) and Mitchell Macleod; grandsons: Cale and Ty; brothers: Gary (Karen) and Alan; sisters: Karen (Gavin) Brewster, Mary Lynn (Blaise) Campbell; nieces and nephews; his best friend Joey Irving and vacationing cousins William and Isabel MacPherson.
