Marguerite Catherine Hayman

Hayman, Marguerite Catherine – (nee MacKenzie), 78, Truro, passed away surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, NS. Born in North Granville, Prince Edward Island, she was the daughter of the late Hazel Jane Riley and Frederick MacKenzie. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Carson, just a short year and a half ago. She is survived by her five children, Sonya (Bruce Purdy), Durham, Sharon Creaser, Fall River, Stephanie Hayman and Scott Hayman, both of Halifax, and Shane Hayman, Truro; five grandchildren who were the light of her life, Melodie, Jameson and Aaron Purdy, Kali and Emily Creaser; brothers, Albert “Fred” MacKenzie and Lewis Riley (Shirley) and Cecil Murl. She made a great contribution to the lives of her family as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, Beaver leader and enjoyed her involvement in the Scouting program. Her second love was beautiful Prince Edward Island. She loved every visit and trip made there to visit family. The family would sincerely like to thank Dr. Tim Matheson and the staff at the Hants Community Hospital for their compassion and guidance through the difficult process of letting go of the heart of our family. The care we received was beyond amazing, kind and considerate. You cared for our whole family. Visitation will be held from 1 -2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2nd followed by a Memorial service at 2 p.m., all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery, Denmark, N.S. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hants Community Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 89 Payzant Drive, Windsor, N.S., B0N 2T0.
