PETTIS, Gary Hibbert - 65, Debert, passed away early May 29, 2015. Born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia to late Darrell and Shirley Pettis. Gary is predeceased by his wife, Bev and his brother, Rod. Gary is survived by his partner, Kathy; his children, Alicia (Dan), Upper Stewiacke; Jasin (Bree), Dartmouth; and step children, Michael and Savannah, Debert; his sisters, Frances (Reid), Parrsboro; Mary (Ron), Salmon Arm, B.C.; and sister in law Marilyn, Parrsboro. Gary served 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, with Construction Engineering. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan and active legion member. His passion was building things. Gary was loved dearly by all friends and family and will be greatly missed. The service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 106 in Debert on June 6th at 1 pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the Debert Legion or the Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Special thanks to the medical staff for their care.
