Linda Paoli Steele

On Saturday, June 27, 2015, Linda Paoli Steele, in her 73rd year, peacefully passed away in the presence of her family at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax following a very brief illness.
She was born to Simon and Louisa (Reddin) Paoli and raised in Charlottetown where she had many accomplishments and friends in her school years. After freshman year at St. Dunstan's University, she became a medical laboratory technologist and worked briefly in that profession, then chose to become a home maker to successfully raise three children. After resuming her university education and earning a Bachelor degree from UPEI she worked at the Heritage Foundation as Director of Publications, which led to the business world where she founded the Printed Page Publishing Company. She was also a partner and former co-owner of Horizons Inc, Steele Construction, and DesBarres House in Charlottetown; Shining Waters Country Inn in Cavendish; and Woodleigh Replicas in Burlington.
She retired to live quietly with her beloved husband and best friend of 53 years, Peter, and her cat, Clyde, in Hantsport, N.S., where she spent many happy days renovating yet another house, painting and gardening.
Her grace, warmth, intellect, quick smile and wit will be very sadly missed by her husband, Peter, and children, Peter Jr. (Julie), Lower Sackville, N.S., David (Margot), St. Albert, AB, and Jennifer, Dartmouth, N.S., along with her sister, Maureen (Richard) Meloche, of Amherstburg, ON. Nine loving grandchildren and many close cousins and friends will remember her with great fondness. Also remembered by sisters-in-law, Irma Arsenault, Summerside, Ann (Mait) MacIsaac and brothers-in-law, Gerald (Maureen) and Roy (Donna), all of Charlottetown.
At her request, there will be no wake or funeral and a private interment of cremains will follow at a later date.
