The family of the late John O'Reilly sadly announce his passing on July 5th, 2015 at St. Luke's Home, age 93 years. Predeceased by his loving wife, Beatrice (Beatie) Butt; parents John and Christine (Wall) O'Reilly; sisters Rita and Mary; brothers; Charlie; Frank; Mike; Gerald; and Jimmy. Left with loving memories, sons: John (Carol) Bedford, N.S. and Rod (Brenda) Ocean Pond, daughters: Suzanne Greeley (Ian) Topsail and Roberta "Jackie" O'Grady (Derm) St. John's; grandchildren: Todd O'Reilly and great-grandson Brandon, Bedford, N.S.; Shaun O'Reilly. Toronto, ON, Lori LeDrew (Scott) and great-grandson Lucas, CBS, Lisa Dillon (Robert), Goulds, Sean O'Reilly (Heidi), St. John's and Tara O'Reilly, Calgary, AB; sisters, Pauline, Florida and Madeline, St. John's. Also leaving a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Before Alzheimer's affected our Dad, he loved life. He was very outgoing. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh. He loved his accordion and harmonica and looked forward to Friday night darts and dancing at the legion and weekends at the cabin. We were blessed to have Dad with us for so many years. We will miss hearing him say, 'How Sweet It Is!'. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, Tuesday, July 7th and Wednesday, July 8th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Funeral services held from Carnell's Memorial Chapel, July 9th at 2pm with inurnment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 1 or Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
