LINACY – Martina Marie King, 56, Linacy, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in North Sydney, she was a daughter of Martin and Margaret “Peggy” MacIsaac, North Sydney. Martina was employed with Proudfoots Home Hardware for a number of years, previously having been employed with the former ICT and Kmart. Martina enjoyed gardening, sharing her love of gardening and devoting any spare time to her special treasure Rylan. She was a devoted homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, baking, pickling and maintaining her home. Martina went above and beyond each day to ensure her family’s wellbeing. Martina was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving besides her parents, Martin and Peggy, are her husband, Wayne; daughter, Natasha (Sandy), Moncton, N.B.; son, Nathan (Amanda), Linacy; grandchildren, Rylan, Brielle, William and Scarlett; sisters, Diane (Lloyd) Gillis, North Sydney; Sharon (Eric) MacLeod, Sydney Mines; Cecilia (Willis) Ayres, Maureen (David) Devoe, North Sydney; brothers, Allister (Edith), North Sydney; Darrell (Leona), Sydney Mines; Martin (Tracy), North Sydney; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Roddie on July 22, 2015.
The family will receive visitors from 12 – 12:50 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Father Gary MacPherson presiding. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow.
