O’BRIEN, DR. WILLIAM BLAKE

Blake O’Brien died peacefully on July 27, 2015 in Fredericton. He was born on September 14, 1922 in Chatham, NB.
Blake is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy (Nickerson) and his three children, David (Frances Brogan), Sheila (Mike Ross) and Jeanie (David Thompson). He was Papa to seven special grandchildren, Andrew Ross (Melanie), Martha Ross, Dr. Meaghan O’Brien, Scott Thompson (Megan Bishop), Elizabeth Kearns (Troy), Liam O’Brien (Amorette) and Dr. Jenny Thompson (Marshall Ross) and his four cherished great-grandchildren Brogan and Flynn O’Brien, Michaela Ross and John Kearns. He is also survived by his brother Jerry (Rita) and his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Carrie, his brothers Ralph (Irene) and Arthur (Bertha), and his sister Eileen (Norman).
Blake embraced his community, shared treasured friendships and found great fulfillment in his career as a dentist/orthodontist for forty years.
Celebration of Blake’s life will be held at Brunswick Street Baptist Church on Thursday, July 30th at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Brunswick Street Baptist Church Building Fund or Habitat for Humanity Fredericton Area Inc.
