It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rosanna Pafford announce her passing on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility at the age of 93 years. Rosanna came to Corner Brook in 1941 met and married Cyril in 1942. She ran a confectionary store on Pier Road until 1975, where she raised 6 children. She then moved to Gibbons Avenue after she retired. Her joy in life after the death of her husband in 1983 were her grandchildren, then her great-grandchildren. She remained in her own home until 2006 when she moved to the Lohnes Complex. In 2013 she moved into Long Term Care where she remained until her death. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories and will always be loved by her sisters: Annie Lane and Daisy Penney; brother Kenneth (Rhoda) Brown; children: Fred (Linda) Pafford, Harold (Gloria) Pafford, Anne Sherwood, Valetta (Phil) Mody, Ken Pafford (Elaine Boyde) and Brian (Yvette) Pafford; Grandchildren: Cyril (Susan) Pafford, John (Michelle) Fitzgerald, Ruth (Bill) Soddard, Robert Pafford (Bonnie Bowins), Paula Pafford (Danny Reid), Annie Pafford, Tara (Mike) Sprague, Phillip Pafford, Heather (Darren) Tresnich, Jennifer Mody, Valetta (Dennis) Colbourne and Christen Pafford (Edmund Gill); great-grandchildren: Grace Pafford, Christopher Pafford, Jacob Fitzgerald, Matthew Stoddard, Kelsey Stoddard, Brian Bowins, Catrina Pafford, Kya Costigan, Ireland Costigan, Amber Dawn Pafford (Patrick Ryan), Isabelle Pafford, Abigail Cardwell, Justin Sprague, Brody Tresnich, Alina Tresnich, Mikyla Miller, Mya Turner, Juliette Colbourne and Isaac Colbourne; great-great-grandson Camden Ryan; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Maude and Moses Brown, loving husband Cyril Pafford, brother Andrew Brown and son-in-law Dave Sherwood. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Thursday and Friday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1 at 11 a.m. from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with The Very Rev. Baxter Park officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
