Blaine Arthur Murphy - 52, of Upper Canard, Kings County, formerly of Timberlea, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Halifax on January 14, 1963, he was a son of Shirley (England) Murphy, Upper Canard and the late Clayton Murphy. He had been employed for 24 years with McKesson, Canada, as a truck driver and later working in the warehouse in Lakeside. Blaine was never idle, always busy doing the things he loved to do. He enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work. He was always ready and willing to help out his family and friends. Blaine was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog Sampson and the late Blackjack. He will be sadly missed each and every day by his loving family. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Heather (Ron) Monteith, Upper Canard; Sheila (Peter) Hughes, Habitant; Sheri Murphy, Lower Sackville; a brother, Brian Murphy, Freetown, Prince Edward Island; his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey and Melissa Monteith, Ashley and Matthew Hughes, Clayton and Jesse Murphy. He was predeceased by a niece, Emily Hughes. Visitation was held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015, Reverend Sandra Fyfe officiating. Burial took place in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Church Street, Port Williams. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
