Elsie Sandham (nee Bjolverud)

It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Sandham announce her passing on Wednesday, August 26, 2015. Elsie was born July 14, 1923 and raised in Moose Jaw. She is survived by her children Sandra Moon, James Sandham (Jean), Philip Sandham (Christine) and Daphne Yates (Timothy). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Elsie was predeceased by her husband, James Sandham in June 1977, granddaughter Cherilyn Moon and son-in-law Charles Moon. Elsie married James in 1942 and after several moves they returned from England, to raise their children in Moose Jaw. Elsie worked at Eaton’s for 23 years. After retiring she loved traveling, going to the casino, crossword puzzles and playing cards and bingo with her friends from Victoria Towers. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. A Celebration of Elsie’s life will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E. on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Della Ferguson will officiate. Interment will take place at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening from 7:00 – 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home. For those so wishing donations in Elsie’s memory may be made to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, S7K 2H8.
