Craig Ivan Starratt - 56, of Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville, formerly of Upper Canard, Kings County, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of Virginia (Huntley) Starratt, Upper Canard and the late Glendon Starratt. He was involved in farming until he developed Multiple Sclerosis and spent the last 17 years in Evergreen Home for Special Care. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters, Courtney (Jamie) Gillis, Kentville; Stacey (Aaron) Van Blarcom, Kentville; Brittany Starratt (partner, Nicholas MacKinnon), Fort St. John, British Columbia; a brother, Oran (Joann), Upper Canard; a sister, Glenda (Kirk) Keddy, Forest Home; four grandchildren, Hayden, Penny, Hendrik and Noah. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his former wife, Penny (Reynolds) (Vander Honing). Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015, Reverend Thelma McLeod officiating. Burial will take place in the Canard Burial Ground, Upper Canard. Donations in memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
