Winnifred “Winnie” Pearl Colpitts
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Winnifred Pearl Colpitts (Tattrie) on August 28, 2015 at Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche.
Born on April 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Frances Tattrie. She is survived by her only daughter, Darlene (Angus) Hill of Upper Onslow; two sons, Terry Donald Colpitts and Dean Howard (Darlene) Colpitts; four grandchildren, Tony (Paula) Hill of Nappan, Kimberly (Bill) Maynard, (Hilden), Katelyn Colpitts of Alberta, Tyler Colpitts of Debert; four great grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda and Cody Hill of Nappan, Mason of Debert; sister, Berthena MacDonald of Truro.
Winnie was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Howard Earl Colpitts; three sisters, Rosie Millard, Stella Mingo and Beulah Tattrie; one brother, Croft Tattrie.
Winnie was a member of the United Church and a life member of the UCW. She was a former member of the Red Cross and member of the community club in New Annan. She worked for a number of years at the Metropolitan Store in Truro.
The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses of Willow Lodge for the loving care of our Mom. We will always be grateful.
No Visitation at Winnie’s request. A Graveside Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00pm., Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Lockerby Cemetery, Tatamagouche, with Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche, Trinity United Church or charity of choice.
