Cyril Oickle

Cyril Andrew Oickle, 51, Chance Harbour, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2015.
Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Harry and Eileen (Dobson) Oickle. Cyril grew up in Little River, attended Oxford for his school years and then onto Saint Mary’s University and University of Alberta. Cyril spent time as a professor at the University of New Brunswick and more recently was a valued employee for Sobeys in Stellarton. He was a great mentor to his fellow colleagues. Cyril had a great passion for music and education. He also loved a good game of cards. In his past time, he filled it with researching genealogy. His love for genealogy started at a young age of 10 and grew so much from then.
He is survived by sister, Faye Cloney, Birchwood; brother, Randy (Cindy) Oickle, Little River; nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother-in-law, Gene Cloney.
In keeping with Cyril’s wishes, a private family graveside service was held in Mansfield Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, Oxford.
