Brenda Fraser Hiltz - 87, of Kentville, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Grandmere, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late John "Gordon" and Gladys (Williams) Fraser. She trained at the Montreal General Hospital as an Radiological Technician. She was an active member of St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, where she was involved with the choir. She loved reading, knitting, singing and everything outdoors. Brenda was genuinely interested in other people and became a trusted confidant. She is survived by her husband, Donald Hiltz; three daughters, Wyn Schoch (Alan Embry), Corvallis, Oregon; Kim Schoch (John McDougall), Lake Clear, New York; Jennifer Donaldson (Herb Theriault), Dartmouth; a step daughter-in-law, Elaine Howett, Yarmouth; a former daughter-in-law, Lynn McComb, Perth, Ontario; two step-sons, Terry (France) Donaldson, White Rock, British Columbia; Michael (Susan) Donaldson, Manotick, Ontario; nine grandchildren, Andrew Embry, Logan and Jordy McDougall, Glen, Mark, Emily and Karen Donaldson, Nicholas and Nathan Hiltz; eight great grandchildren, Luke, Brooke, Maya and Nathan Donaldson, Taylor, Janna, Kellan and Linden Hiltz; beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, David Schoch; her second husband, Stanley Donaldson; two sisters, Betty Pratt and Gladys Hunter; two brothers, John Fraser and Jim Fraser. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 in St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, Reverend Catherine Desloges officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
