BRADSHAW, Malcolm - It is with deep sorrow I announce the death of my loving husband, Malcolm Henry Bradshaw, on October 2, 2015 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth. Malcolm was born November 22, 1931 in Hubbards, Nova Scotia, son of the late Rev. Canon Alleyne George Bradshaw of England and the late Margaret Praetor Greenidge of Barbados. Mac was eleven years old when his father was appointed rector of Holy Trinity Church, Yarmouth. It was a special event each Sunday for Mac to attend the eight o’clock church service with his father. Mac was a graduate of Normal College, studied pre law at Kings College and graduated with an LLB from Dalhousie University. He taught school for ten years prior to entering full time private law practice in 1968 in Yarmouth and Digby. He enjoyed such sports as tennis, golf, bowling and curling. His passion was for the Boy Scout movement and he devoted many years and countless hours to its successes. He was a philanthropist, happy to be able to donate to so many causes and felt honoured to be recognized by so many organizations for his generosity. One example is the Donor’s Wall of Honour at Yarmouth Regional Hospital where he and his wife are Fellows. In addition to his parents, Mac was predeceased by his sisters, Beryl, Joan and Dorothy and his brothers Charles and David. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Shirley Isabel (Ford), two sisters-in-law and many of his wife’s siblings and their spouses as well as many nieces and nephews. There was no visitation. Funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 7, where the private burial immediately followed in Church Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only, please, but feel free to honour Mac’s memory by contributions to your favourite charity. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home.
