(1931 – 2015)
Lois Clark of Red Deer Alberta, formerly from Penticton, BC, passed away surrounded by her family on October 1, 2015 at the age of 84 years after a lengthy illness. Lois was predeceased by her husband Norman Clark, her parents William and Sarah Duncan, and her brother Alec Duncan. She is lovingly remembered by her son Dale Clark (Laurienne Ring), daughter Trudy Thomson (Doug), grandchildren Dan Clark (Melissa Calder), Sarah Clark Morgan, Alex Thomson (Tianna), Neil Thomson (Karey), and Sydney Thomson; her brother Jim Duncan, and her sisters Lorraine Ball (Ray) and Margaret Carr. Lois’ career spanned 4 decades – starting as a teacher in a one room school house, many years as an elementary school teacher and reading consultant in Moose Jaw, SK, and finishing up as an Assistant Director of Education in Leader, SK. Throughout her life, Lois loved to travel. She spent twenty-one winters in Arizona, and in her later years took trips to Greece, Hawaii and Ecuador. She was an active member of the United Church of Canada everywhere she lived, and in retirement was a hospice volunteer. Donations in her memory would be gratefully accepted for the Desert Valley Hospice Society, P.O. Box 1261, Oliver, BC V0H 1T0. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Oasis United Church, 2964 Skaha Lake Road, Penticton with Rev. Dr. Mark Bedford officiating.
