It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Jean "Betty Jean" Jones, age 87, of Tyne Valley, PEI, formerly of Port Elgin. Betty Jean passed away peacefully with her family at her side, at the Stewart Memorial Home in Tyne Valley on Monday, October 5, 2015. Born in Port Elgin, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ethel (Johnson) Pauley (Otis). She will be sadly missed by her children Judy (Wilbur), Cavendish, PEI, Donald (Georgie), Saint John, NB, Buddy (Joanne), Sackville, Patsy (Rick), Shubenacadie, NS, Donna (Trevor), Ellerslie, PEI, Kevin (Paulette), Lakeville, NB, Rob (Brenda), Oxford, NS, Wayne (Linda), Kevin, Richard, and Robert (Kim), all of Port Elgin, NB, and daughter-in-law Dawn Jones; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Levi (Betty) Montreal, Bernice, Alberta, Myrtle (Keith), Murray Corner, and Noel (Joanne), Summerside, PEI. She was predeceased by husbands Lester Jones and Ronald Rutledge and her son Stephen. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, (506-538-2241). Visiting hours will take place at the Jones Funeral Centre in Port Elgin, 3 West Main St., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. from the Jones Funeral Centre, Port Elgin, with Witness David Tower officiating. Burial will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in Betty Jean's memory may do so to the Stewart Memorial Home.
