Margaret Elizabeth "Marg" MacQuarrie

MacQUARRIE, Margaret Elizabeth “Marg” – 73, Valley, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday evening, October 7, 2015, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, following a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s. Born May 19, 1942, in Noel, she was a daughter of the late Rae and Alice (Archibald) Spencer. Marg worked at Andres Wines, Glenview Lodge and The Mira Long Term Care Centre for many years. A true family woman, she was a stay-at-home Mom who took great pleasure looking after her family, loved entertaining for family and friends and hosting Mary Kay and Tupperware parties. She was a remarkable woman who was known for her kindness and love for others and ensuring that everyone felt important and valued; she helped care for her parents, enjoyed working with seniors, volunteered her time with and was a founding member of the Alzheimer Group in Truro and was a Brownie and Girl Guide leader at Valley United Church. She enjoyed going to the beach, dancing, cross country skiing and traveling to visit her grandchildren. Her children will fondly remember her as being the loudest fan at all of their sports games and everyone will remember her for her beautiful blue eyes and smile. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Bruce Phillips for being her family doctor and friend, the staff, residents and volunteers at Cedarstone Enhanced Care for their care and for making Marg feel at home, Dr. Ryve Loshaj and to each and every person who has shown their love and support to our entire family during this journey.
