Wilfred 'Biff'  Gouthro

It is with broken hearts that the loving family of Wilfred 'Biff' Gouthro announce his passing on Oct. 7, 2015 at the age of 84.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Jacobi) Gouthro.
He is survived by his three children, Beverly (Derrick) Devoe, Gary (Coleen) Gouthro, Emory (Brenda) Gouthro; special companion of 12 years, Shirley Leadbeater; seven grandchildren, Tracy, Dean, Mandy, Christopher, Alicia, Garret, Jodi; 13 great-grandchildren and one sister, Lorna (James) MacKinnon.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Christina (Fraser) Gouthro; twin daughters, Margaret and Theresa and one brother, Ronald.
Biff resided in Scotchtown most of his life. In his early years, he worked in No. 16 colliery and later became a welder by trade and was a member of Local 682. An avid guitar player, he was well known for his skill and knowledge of music, playing in bands for over 25 years. Music was in his heart and soul until the end. We will forever and always be thankful for such a wonderful father. We love you, Dad, with all our hearts.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 from 3-5 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, River Ryan, with committal prayers by Fr. Ray Huntley.
As an expression of sympathy for Biff, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
