Lloyd Murphy

MURPHY, LLOYD RAYMOND
It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of Lloyd Raymond Murphy, at the age of 72, of Fredericton NB, born in New Jerusalem, NB. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) on Oct 10, 2015.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Geneva (Siteman) Murphy; daughters, Lisa Fullarton (Larry) of Fredericton, NB and Melissa Murphy-Desrochers (Louis) of Pembroke, ON; grandchildren, Amanda Fullarton, Jonathan Desrochers and Madeleine Desrochers. He is also survived by his mother, Bernice Murphy; brothers, Reg Cox, Gary Murphy; sisters, Shirley Ward, Linda Cogswell and Anna Murphy and his special double cousin, Norman Murphy of Saint John, NB, along with many brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Helen (Maxwell) Murphy; father, Earle Murphy; aunt and uncle, Ruth and John Dunn of Sussex, NB; parents-in-law, Mary Josephine and George Siteman and beloved canine companion, Emmerson.

Lloyd was a personable, likeable, friendly man who could turn his hand to anything he tried. He made friends and left an impression wherever he went and was always the first one to lend a hand to whoever needed him. Lloyd worked in the grocery business, construction and carpentry and then for over 30 years Eastern Bakeries/Canada Bread. When he wasn't working, he was probably at Magaguadavic Lake fishing or just being with family, friends and the MacMinns (Dave and Brenda), or helping someone do a "Lloyd driven project".

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 4 to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 11 am with Father John Jennings as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Fredericton. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
