Amie Gardner

Amie Mary Gardner (Jocelyn) (nee Leonard)
May 7, 1919 - November 15, 2015
We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend into the everlasting arms of Jesus. Mom was born in 1919 west of Ogema SK on the family farm. After growing up in Ogema she married Les Jocelyn. In 1946 Les returned home from the war and Les, Amie and Gailya moved to Moose Jaw and proudly raised their children. Amie was a social butterfly, always active and involved with family, friends and church activities. She liked getting the first family car because it allowed her more freedom to visit family and friends and travel around. Amie was creative in everything she did. We all felt cherished by the priceless gifts created by her loving hands. She was a wonderful cook and we all enjoyed her butter tarts and pies. Mom worked at Scottie's Hardware and Ashdowns. After Les' passing she took up square dancing where she met Cy Gardner. They married in 1976. After retirement they enjoyed travelling around the world. Amie had a good happy life full of love and was grateful the Lord watched over her giving her loving parents, brothers, sisters, two husbands, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Amie is remembered by her loving family of one daughter and two sons, and their families: Carrol Jocelyn--Steve (Denise), Spencer, Connor; Cara (Joel), Justin (Meagan - friend), Caitlin, Larissa (Taylor - fiancé); Kelly; Kristina, Derek, Brooke; Gary Jocelyn (Nancy)--Keary (Patricia), Bradley, Graydon, Megan; Corey (Annie), Kensie; Del Jocelyn (Donna)--Davin (Tennile - friend), Chase; sister Tilda Wiles of Ogema; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and good friends. She is predeceased by her daughter Gailya (1947), husband Les Jocelyn (1973), husband Cy Gardner (2007), brothers John, Al and Leon Leonard, and sisters Jenny, Emily, Blanch, Rita, Doris and an infant baby sister. A funeral service will be held at St. Aidan Anglican Church, 124 - 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw on Saturday, November 21st at 2 pm. Rev. Dr. Dean Pinter will officiate. A family interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Aidan Anglican Church. In living memory of Amie, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
