McKee, Darlene Rose 1937 – 2015
It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Darlene Rose McKee, age 78, at Providence Place in Moose Jaw, SK on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. She was born on August 31, 1937 at Swift Current, SK to George and Lily Moskal. She grew up in various places such as Lafleche, Rockglen, Elbow and Morse due to her father’s employment with the Canadian Pacific Railway. After graduating high school, she took a business course in Moose Jaw. She was then employed by SaskEnergy. She met her future husband Reg McKee in Moose Jaw, who just happened to be a close friend of her brother Edward. Reg and Darlene were married in Moose Jaw on June 29, 1957. They made their home in Moose Jaw. Two sons were born to them, Darryn and Marlon. Darlene was a devoted wife and mother. She especially enjoyed her yard and working outside, making her yard like a park without a weed to be seen. She learned sign language and enjoyed translating and signing to the deaf. She loved music and could play the piano very well. She had a beautiful singing voice which could be heard above others. Darlene was very active serving her community as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses because she was interested in people. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years Reg, her son Marlon and his wife Nancy. She is survived by one brother George (Donna) Moskal, sister-in-law Betty Moskal and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, one son Darryn and two brothers, Edward and Jackie. The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Providence Place who cared for Darlene. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 200 Mulberry Lane, Moose Jaw, SK, officiated by Edwin Tingley.
