The family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Stuart George Sutherland on November 24, 2015. Stuart was born to Gladys and Hugh Sutherland on August 26, 1931 at Borden, SK. He attended Thistledale School and went on to complete High School in Borden. Stuart obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan, and following graduation, moved to Moose Jaw to commence a career in Pharmacy that lasted 42 years. Stuart treated his staff as family and lived a dedicated and fulfilling life as he attended to the well-being of his customers. He retired from Sutherland’s 9th Ave. Drugs in 1997. He married Ruth Anderson in 1958, and they raised two children, Hugh and Leanne. Stuart was a long-time loyal member of the Moose Jaw Rotary Club and Zion United Church. He was a proud and committed Moose Javian and a strong supporter of its revitalization projects. Stuart and Ruth enjoyed “Highland House”, their cottage at Buffalo Pound Lake and travelled extensively. He was also an avid gardener and loved his home and family. He is predeceased by his brother Donald Sutherland and his grandson Greg Sargent. Stuart is lovingly remembered by his wife Ruth; son Hugh, his wife Diann and their children Sean (Tessa) Sutherland, Camilla (Mike) Milosevich and Callum Sutherland; daughter Leanne, her husband Jonathan Sargent and their children Tyrell and Graham Sargent; sister Marion (Cliff) Colborn; sister-in-law Helen Sutherland; sisters-in-law Shirley Elliott, Arlene Bray and Carol (Darryl) Downton and his many nieces and nephews. He treasured the close connection with all his cousins, most of whom lived in Scotland, a country near and dear to his heart. A Celebration of Stuart’s Life will be held at Zion United Church, 423 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, on Monday November 30, 2015 at 10:30 am. Reverend Doug Hallman will officiate. Memorial donations to Zion United Church, ShelterBox Canada c/o the Moose Jaw Rotary Club, or to a charity of choice. In living memory of Stuart, a memorial planting will be made by W.J.
