Gail Humble
July 24, 1940 - January 29, 2016
It is with great sadness that the family of Gail Humble, age 76, announce her passing on January 29, 2016 at Valley View Centre, from pulmonary arrest. Gail Humble was born on July 24, 1940, the youngest child of Cy and Nella Humble of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Gail is survived by her brother Neal (Shirley) Humble of Vegreville, AB and their child Theresa (Dan) and Tristan Bernardo. Gail was a resident of the Valley View Centre for over 50 years and it was more than just a facility to Gail and her family. To her, it was home, and she felt loved by everyone there. Valley View brought Gail comfort, peace, laughter, and skilled personnel who could provide the resources, services and supports she needed to have a happy life. Gail’s family is forever grateful for the care that the staff at Valley View Centre provided. Gail loved stuffed animals, and her brother and his family enjoyed keeping her collection bountiful. Gail’s favourite one was a monkey that had a personalized sound message of “we love you Gail”, she would carry this monkey everywhere. Other loves of Gail’s included grilled cheese sandwiches, ice cream, music, and The Wizard of Oz movie. Gail was a social butterfly and she enjoyed walking around visiting and saying hi to everyone. As she aged she needed to use a wheelchair to get around, and this change didn’t slow her down. Gail was a ray of sunshine who shared her smile and joy with others. A Service to Celebrate Gail will be held at the Valley View Centre on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 1:30pm with reception to follow. The Reverend Deacon Arleen Champion will officiate. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In living memory of Gail, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
