Roscoe F. Pendleton

Roscoe F. Pendleton of 81 Broadway St. N, Kensington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and family, at his residence on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, aged 75 years.
Born in Charlottetown on August 1, 1940, son of the late Sylvanus and Erena (Foster) Pendleton. Husband for 54 years to Jean (MacLeod) Pendleton. Father of Kent (Lourik), Danny (Jennifer) and Leslie (Lilah) Pendleton. Grandfather to Madison, David-Daniel, Zackary and Samuel. Brother of Sylvia Willis and Helen (William) Cairns. Brother-in-law of Ernie Spurgeon, Chrissie Simmons, and Donald (Beryl) Macleod. Also surviving are several nephews and nieces.
Predeceased by sister, Betty Spurgeon, brothers-in-law, Melvin Willis, Leigh Simmons, and sister-in-law, Irene MacLeod.
Roscoe joined Scouts Canada in 1951, and was a leader or volunteer ever since. Principal for 29 years at the Kensington and Queen Elizabeth Elementary Schools. Very involved in the community, Kensington Presbyterian Church, and taught Sunday school for 25 years. Former President of the Kensington Area Recreation Association and member of the Rink Rebuilding Committee. Volunteered with KenNet, Rails for Trails Association, and supervised the planting of trees along the Kensington section of the Confederation Trail. He received the Kensington Area Recreation Association's Volunteer award in 1995 and Kensington Citizen of the Year award in 2004.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington for visitation on Thursday, February 11, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in Davison Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 12 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Kensington People's Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to the Kensington Presbyterian Church Building Fund or P.E.I. Cancer Treatment Centre. Please no flowers by family request.
