COOMBS - Vera Maude, 94, of Milton, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor, Liverpool on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Born in Western Head, she was a daughter of the late William and Hilda (Guest) Wolfe. Vera was a member of Trinity Anglican Church in Liverpool. She volunteered for many suppers and events at the Milton Baptist Church and Milton Community Hall. Vera and her late husband Joe were members of the Milton Canoe and Camera Club and Vera was a long time member of the Red Cross and Mother’s Union. Vera and Joe were avid card players at all the local card parties and she also loved to play cards and games with her family and friends. She also enjoyed needlework, gardening and reading. She is survived by her daughters Erna (James) Corbeil of Hunt’s Point, Joyce (Glen) Brodie of Moncton, NB, her daughter in law Ruby Coombs of Waterloo; her grandchildren Damon (Roberta) Brodie, Meghan Brodie, Erin Brodie, Ryan Brodie, Tammy (Gordon) Stienwand, Aaron (Eryn) Coombs, Leanne (Blair) Gareau, David Corbeil; her great grandchildren Veronica Brodie, Isabella Brodie, Jesse, Sara and Rebecca Stienwand, Colin Coombs; her sisters Ruby (Milford) Roy, Margaret Wolfe, Dorothy Wolfe, all of Halifax and Ethel (Gus) Dorey of Liverpool; her brother Forrest (Mary Jane) of Parrsboro. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, sons Joseph, Richard and Charles, sister Kathleen Conrad, brothers Harold, Ronald, Raymond, Archie, Kenneth and William and an infant sibling at birth. Funeral service will be Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool. Reverend Bonnie Baird officiating with reception to follow in the church hall. Burial will be in Milton Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the trinity Anglican Church or to the Queens Branch of the Victorian Order of Nurses.
