It is with great sadness, the family of Lyla Lindell announce her passing on March 15, 2016. Mom was the eldest of seven children born to Ellen and Albert Lindquist on June 24, 1916 on the farm at Calderbank, SK. Mom wasn’t able to celebrate her 100th birthday but she said she was 100 because she was in her 100th year. She loved to garden, knit, crochet, sew, bake, watch the Blue Jays and curling. Her memory will be cherished by her children: Don (Jean), Karen (Del) and Sherry (Randy); grandchildren: Darin, Jodi (Yazdon), Jason (Mayleen), Justin (Charlotte), Chris (Jenn), Dana (Blake), and Teala (Jarrett); great-grandchildren: Kayla (Lee), Taylor (Alex), Kelsey, Parsa, Kaihan, Ferdossi, Mazie and Kinzlie; and great-great-granddaughter Brooklin. Mom will also be remembered by her sisters: Vionne, Margaret and Alice; sisters-in-law: Ruth and Gladys. Lyla was known as Lipstick Grandma to many nieces, nephews and their families. She was very fond of her special cousin, Marilyn Riendeau. Predeceased by husband Edwin, brothers Ercell and Ervin, sister Myrtle, grandson Jay, daughter-in-law Bonnie, brothers-in-law Vern, Keith, and Reiny. The Celebration of Life service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Linda Tomlinson-Seebach will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pioneers Lodge, 1000 Albert St., Moose Jaw, S6H 2Y2. In living memory of Lyla, a memorial planting will be made by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
