SCOVILLE, Evelyn Elizabeth- age 89, of Yarmouth, N.S. passed away at the Meadows Home for Special Care on April 18, 2016. Born in Woods Harbour, Shelburne Co., NS on May 14, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Eldridge and Venetia (Jeffrey) Chetwynd. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. Known as an extremely dedicated and hard worker she worked at Dominion Textiles for 37 years before retiring. She had a passion for life and lived her life to the fullest. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling and spending time with her friends and family. Evelyn was extremely fond of animals and loved her dog, Bear and two cats Mia and Ferrah. She is survived by her daughter Linda Hamilton, Halifax; son, Wayne (Geraldine) Scoville, Halifax; sisters, Dorothy Cook and Valetta Muise; grandchildren, Crystal Sollows, Kimberly (Brent) Comeau, Tania (Rick) DeViller, Dawn Hamilton (Jason Pothier), John Scoville, Linda Hawkins (John Bent); and lots of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Besides her parents Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Walter; sisters, Helen Chetwynd, Edna Symonds, Annie Symonds, Norma Stoddard and Elsie Goreham; brother, Sidney. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Mike Cannell officiated. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society.
