Ray passed away from end stage COPD on April 26, 2016 in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 82 years. Ray was born to Bill and May Hollingshead on March 30, 1934, he was the 9th of 10 Hollingshead kids. Ray met the love of his life, Ethel Nelson, in June of 1960 and they married in November of the same year. Together they raised five loving children who in turn gave them eight grandchildren. Ray farmed in the Meath Park area his whole life. He also worked as a school bus driver, councilor for the RM, mechanic and all around handy man. Ray played many sports and taught all of his kids and grandkids to play hard but always have fun. A die hard Leafs, Blue Jays and Rider fan, you could always find him in his chair cheering on his teams. He enjoyed spending his time gardening, reading his cowboy books, teasing his grandkids and basically talking anyone’s ear off. He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Ethel (Nelson); 4 of 5 children: Wendy, Lynn, Dick, and Liz; 8 grandchildren: Robyn, Alec, Mikey, Kyle, Gabe, Wil, Aidan, and Marcel; Lynn’s husband: Scott Wasylenchuk; Robyn’s mom: Tammy Gibb and family; Doreen (Earl) Slawson and Ernest (Donna) Hollingshead; as well as in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by: his son: Warren; granddaughter: Taylor; his parents: Bill and May; his brothers and sisters: Eva (Frank) Sinkiewicz, Margaret (Calvin) Dunlop, Gordon (Margaret) Hollingshead, and Carol (Bob) Evans; Luella, Kenneth, and Esther in childhood. A funeral service will be held April 29, 2016 at the Weirdale Hall, Weirdale, SK, at 2:00PM. Donations can be made to the Henribourg Cemetery, care of Harvey Weir, Box 44, Henribourg, SK, S0J 1C0.
