Marie “Helene” Williams passed away peacefully at Providence Place on April 27, 2016 at the age of 92. Helene was born in North Battleford, SK and grew up in Denholm. She attended school there and entered Nursing School in North Battleford before meeting her future husband, Howard and moving to Moose Jaw. She and Howard were married in 1943 and continued to reside in Moose Jaw. Helene worked in retail for many years. She was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady and the CWL. She loved to knit, crochet, crafts, and enjoyed bingo and the lottery. Predeceased by her parents, and husband Howard in 1978, she will be sadly missed by her children: Jeannette Williams – Calgary, Beth (Ken) Knutson – Calgary, Joan Carbonell (Paul Laplante) – Toronto, and Bob (Joanne) Williams – Morinville, AB; 3 grandchildren, Paula Knutson, Craig Williams, and Alison Williams; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Yvonne Scott – Dauphin, MB; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Providence Place for their loving care and kindness. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday April 30, 2016 at 10:30 am. Father Rick Krofchek will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. For those so wishing, memorial donations to Providence Place, would be appreciated.
